ASafetyNet is designed to help users privately document incidents, organize evidence, create safety plans, and prepare information that may be useful for advocates, attorneys, campus safety, law enforcement, or personal protection purposes.
Your privacy matters. ASafetyNet is built with a privacy-first approach. We do not want your personal documentation unless you choose to export, share, or send it yourself.
1. Information You May Choose to Store in the App
ASafetyNet may allow you to create, save, or organize information such as:
- Incident titles, notes, descriptions, dates, and times
- Photos, videos, screenshots, documents, or other attachments
- Names of people involved, witnesses, officers, agencies, or case numbers
- Location information related to an incident, if you allow location access
- Safety plan information
- Campus Walk With Me notes or related records
- AI-generated summaries, risk observations, or pattern summaries
- Exported reports, PDFs, ZIP files, or QR-code sharing packages
This information may be sensitive. You should only enter information you are comfortable storing on your device or intentionally sharing.
2. How ASafetyNet Stores Your Information
ASafetyNet is designed to keep user-created incident documentation primarily on your device unless you choose to export, email, share, sync, or otherwise transmit it.
ASafetyNet does not automatically publish your information.
ASafetyNet does not sell your personal documentation.
ASafetyNet does not use your incident records for advertising.
3. Location Data
ASafetyNet may request access to your device location to help document where an incident occurred or to assist with location-based features.
Location access is optional. You can allow or deny location permissions through your device settings.
If location is enabled, ASafetyNet may use location information to:
- Add a location to an incident record
- Display incident locations on a map
- Help build a clearer timeline or report
- Support safety-related documentation features
ASafetyNet does not use location data to track you for advertising.
4. Photos, Videos, Files, Camera, and Microphone
ASafetyNet may request access to your photos, camera, files, or microphone only when needed for app features you choose to use.
These permissions may be used to:
- Attach photos, videos, screenshots, or documents to an incident
- Record or save supporting evidence
- Add media to an export or report
- Create documentation for your own records
You control what media you add to ASafetyNet.
5. AI Features
ASafetyNet may include AI-powered features that help users create summaries, identify possible patterns, organize information, or generate plain-language documentation.
AI outputs are for informational and organizational purposes only. AI summaries may be incomplete, inaccurate, or may not capture every important detail.
ASafetyNet AI is not a lawyer, therapist, emergency dispatcher, police officer, judge, or advocate. You should not rely only on AI-generated content when making legal, medical, safety, or emergency decisions.
When AI features require online processing, some text or context you choose to submit may be sent to a third-party AI provider for processing. ASafetyNet will aim to limit the information sent to what is needed for the feature.
Do not submit information to AI features that you do not want processed by a third-party service.
6. Emergency Disclaimer
ASafetyNet is not an emergency service.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
For domestic violence support in the United States, you may contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or visit thehotline.org.
ASafetyNet is a documentation and organization tool. It does not replace emergency services, legal advice, medical care, counseling, or professional advocacy support.
7. Sharing and Exporting Your Information
ASafetyNet may allow you to export or share your documentation through features such as:
- PDF reports
- ZIP files
- Email export
- QR code sharing
- Printed reports
- Sharing with advocates, attorneys, campus safety, or law enforcement
You are responsible for deciding when, how, and with whom you share your information.
Once you export or send information outside of ASafetyNet, we cannot control how that recipient stores, uses, forwards, or protects it.
8. QR Code Sharing
ASafetyNet may include QR code sharing features that allow selected information to be accessed or imported by another device or viewer.
Only share QR codes with people you trust.
QR code access may be time-limited or designed for controlled sharing, but you should still treat QR codes like sensitive documents.
9. Cloud, Backup, and Sync
Some versions of ASafetyNet may support optional cloud backup, device sync, or Apple-related storage features.
If you use iCloud, Apple services, device backup, or other cloud storage, your data may be handled according to Apple's privacy policies and your device settings.
You can manage iCloud, backup, and app storage settings through your Apple device settings.
10. App Store and Third-Party Services
ASafetyNet may use third-party services for features such as:
- App distribution through Apple's App Store
- In-app purchases or subscriptions
- Crash reporting or diagnostics
- AI processing
- Email or sharing tools
- Analytics, if enabled
- Advertising, if included in a free version
ASafetyNet will not knowingly sell personal incident documentation to advertisers or data brokers.
11. In-App Purchases and Payments
If ASafetyNet offers subscriptions, premium features, AI upgrades, ad removal, or other paid options, purchases may be processed through Apple.
ASafetyNet does not directly receive your full payment card information from Apple.
Payment and subscription management are handled through your Apple ID and App Store account settings.
12. Children and Minors
ASafetyNet is not intended for unsupervised use by children under 13.
Some users, including students or young adults, may use ASafetyNet for campus safety or personal documentation. If a minor uses ASafetyNet, a parent, guardian, school official, advocate, or appropriate professional should help determine whether use is appropriate.
13. Data Security
ASafetyNet is designed with privacy and safety in mind. We aim to use reasonable safeguards to protect information handled by the app.
Security measures may include:
- On-device storage
- Apple device security protections
- Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode lock features when enabled
- Limited data collection
- User-controlled export and sharing

No app, device, or digital storage system can guarantee complete security. You should protect your device with a strong passcode, keep your software updated, and be careful when sharing sensitive reports or QR codes.
14. Data Deletion
You may delete information you created inside ASafetyNet using the app's delete features, if available.
You may also remove the app from your device. Deleting the app may delete locally stored app data depending on your device settings and backup configuration.
If you exported, emailed, printed, or shared information outside of ASafetyNet, deleting it from the app will not delete copies held by other people, agencies, apps, email providers, cloud services, or devices.
15. Your Choices
You can control many privacy settings through your device, including:
- Location access
- Camera access
- Microphone access
- Photos access
- Notifications
- Face ID or Touch ID
- iCloud backup
- App tracking permissions
- App deletion
You can also choose not to use certain features, such as AI, location, QR sharing, or exports.
16. Legal, Court, and Evidence Disclaimer
ASafetyNet helps organize documentation, but it does not guarantee that any record, file, screenshot, AI summary, PDF, export, or report will be accepted in court or by law enforcement.
Rules about evidence, admissibility, privacy, consent, recording, and reporting can vary by location and situation.
You should speak with an attorney, victim advocate, law enforcement agency, or other qualified professional if you need legal guidance.
17. Domestic Violence and Safety Disclaimer
ASafetyNet is designed to support documentation and organization, but using any safety or documentation app may create risk if someone else has access to your device.
Consider your personal safety before entering sensitive information.
Use device security features such as passcodes, Face ID, and safe backups. If you believe someone is monitoring your phone, accounts, location, or apps, contact a trusted advocate or technology safety professional.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ASafetyNet changes, new features are added, or legal requirements change.
When we update this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
Continued use of ASafetyNet after updates means you accept the revised policy.
